Suburban Newspapers of America Conference

This week I'm attending the SNA conference at the Intercontinental in Kansas City. I have mixed feelings about it, because there is an awful lot of denial going on about the state of the newspaper industry. There was actually a guy on a panel today who didn't understand how organic search worked. Yikes.

Anyway, it just reaffirms my happy feelings about working for the Lawrence Journal-World. There is obviously a lot of growth that needs to happen industry wide, and I'm discovering what I already knew - that we're ahead of the game, or at least have a clear vision for the future.
